No, there is no instructions or software provided with the VCI. YOu need to purchase the attachment cables and the training DVD separately. I have just reviewed the DVD and the 'tips' inside the tuning software. I am a computer geek but this is going to be a bit of a steep learning curve. Check lower left corner of Screamin Eagle Pro Street Tuner software screen. If VCI Status link indicates that VCI is disconnected, it means VCI is not communicating with the computer. Check items 2-7 below to see if there is a physical or electrical problem. Check cable between computer and VCI. Make sure connections are clean and tight.
